how it all started
Amanda Rock, Founder
In a world where juggling the care of our parents, our children, and the dream of homeownership feels like an impossible balancing act, Amanda Rock stands as a beacon of hope. Like many of you, Amanda knew the struggle intimately. Witnessing the staggering statistic that 63% couldn’t afford housing on incomes below $75,000, she felt the call to action.
Instead of following the traditional path, she dared to dream differently. Choosing to forgo the security of a corporate career and the comfort of a stable home, Amanda embarked on a bold journey. She sold her house, eschewed graduate school, and poured her heart and resources into nurturing the seed of an inclusive community. This included using her grad school funds to seed the start of the Tiny Pocket Community in McKinney, Texas.
The Tiny Pocket Community began as a personal endeavor but quickly blossomed into something far grander. Amanda’s unwavering dedication plus a team of inspired leaders that joined the efforts have expanded the vision, reaching out to embrace all those in need of a home. Now, here we stand — visionaries with the belief that everyone, regardless of circumstance, deserves safe and beautiful housing.
the tiny pocket community is a collective vision. TOGETHER WE CAN transcend boundaries, build bridges, and create a haven where inclusivity, sustainability, and safety prevail.
