Our mission:
build community-centeric housing using affordable and sustainable practices
Tiny Pocket Community is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization developing a tiny home, pocket neighborhood with a sustainable permaculture landscape in McKinney, Texas.
Our goal at Tiny Pocket Community is to offer beautiful, tiny, sustainable homes ranging in size from 250 – 800 square feet at rental rates estimated to range from $600 - $1000 per month, well below the local, for-profit rental rates.
Our homes will be open to all members of our community from local school teachers and firefighters, to empty-nesters looking to downsize, to those coming out of crisis situations in need of safe, affordable housing.
What is a pocket community?
“Pocket neighborhoods are clustered groups of neighboring homes gathered around a shared open space — a garden courtyard, a pedestrian street, a series of joined backyards, or a reclaimed alley — all of which have a clear sense of territory and shared stewardship, where nearby neighbors can easily know and support one another.”
